The Guru Awards are a special Photoshop competition just for conference attendees of Photoshop World, and were created to honor and recognize the design, photography, retouching, and creativity of our attendees. Since their humble beginnings in 1999, the Guru Awards have now become the most prestigious and coveted awards in the international digital imaging industry.

Any conference attendee may enter up to three pieces for judging in any one (or more) of the seven categories, including Artistic, Photography, Photo Restoration, Commercial, Photo Montage, Photo Retouching, and Illustration. There is no entry fee for conference attendees and only conference attendees may enter.

The winner in each category is awarded with a Guru Award trophy (shown here), as well as an Intuos4 tablet from Wacom, the official sponsor. Each category winner's work is also featured in Photoshop User magazine. Two finalists in each category will receive a Finalist Certificate (suitable for framing), and their work will appear in a special gallery on the Photoshop World Expo floor.

There is a special category, the Vincent Versace Award for Digital Photography Excellence, which is presented to one entrant in the Photography category, and this winner is chosen by Mr. Versace himself. A special trophy, a prize package, and a 24x30 signed print from Vincent, is awarded.

A Best of Show winner is selected from all entries, and is awarded with the Best of Show trophy and receives a Wacom Cintiq 21UX tablet.
