w/ Vincent Versace

There is an artistic voice that is unique to each individual. A way of seeing the world that so moves us that we are compelled to photograph it for others to see. This class is about not looking but about seeing. It is a class about creating images that when viewed we believe we were there to feel what the photographer felt when he was taken by the picture. In this class we will explore the boundaries of light, pattern, geometry, gesture, emotion, color and most importantly time and how to incorporate these elements in the images we create. The focus of this class is to learn not how to take photographs but rather how to be taken by them. This class is not one that will just explore how to take technically perfect, compositionally correct, average photographs of an extraordinary subjects, but rather how to create extraordinary photographs of the world we see through the lens from the smallest things we walk by everyday and the average things we take for granted. This class is about how to see past the obvious. Limited to 45 participants.
